A successful but desperately average couple are teetering on the brink of marriage. As the days count down towards the big one, panic rises. Unexpectedly, both find themselves becoming entangled with other people: a jaded therapist who may or may not be suffering a mid-life crisis and a teenager struggling to find an identity.

As their nice, normal lives begin to unravel, the question of what it would take to make them truly happy leads into increasingly strange and hilarious territory, where love and hate are dangerously, even life-threateningly, intertwined.

For anyone who’s ever wanted to stand on a windswept plain, howling for lost love.

Inspired by the Peggy Lee song this is the second show from Inspector Sands, winners of the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe Prize 2009.

“The terrific thing about this show is that it works on many levels. Brilliant, slippery, deliciously sharp and witty”

The Guardian

“A wickedly funny and reassuringly well-honed piece in which situation comedy veers from everyday banality to surreal imaginings”

Described by The Guardian as “the finest instrumental duo on the traditional scene” and twice winners of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo, John Spiers and Jon Boden have made the genre of spontaneous, punky English folk very much their own stomping ground.

Loud, proud, and with just a few acoustic instruments, they create a multitude of textures upon which they present traditional stories and dance music.

A great chance to see a duo now regulars on the main stages at major festivals.
