Hugh Lupton in The Homing Stone

£12/Concessions £10

Arthur Ransome, Hugh’s great-uncle, went to Russia to collect folk tales. In his pocket he carried a stone from Peel Island on Coniston Water. He played chess with Lenin, became trusted by the Bolsheviks, and lost his heart to Trotsky’s secretary, Evgenia. In 1919 they escaped, the stone still in Ransome’s pocket. Hugh Lupton is highly-acclaimed as one of Britain’s foremost storytellers.

You’re in for a treat. Suitable for ages 12+.

She’s back! A firm favourite after two previous storming performances at Victoria Hall. If you didn’t see her then don’t miss her this time around at one of her favourite venues.

Chantel McGregor began her musical career at the tender age of three playing on an acoustic guitar before graduating to electric at seven (because it was louder), and by the age of twelve she began taking part in sessions at the Melborn Hotel in Bradford.

Playing as The Chantel McGregor Band she has toured extensively delivering her raw sound all over the country. Her sets include an array of guitar classics including Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin in addition to her own work.

After seeing Chantel play one reporter was moved to say:

“I often use superlatives to describe great musicians but nobody deserves them more than this band!”
